Our AML and Verification Commitment

Every account on our platform sits behind a verification and anti-money-laundering framework required by our licence. This page sets out, in plain terms, what we check, when we check it, and what we need from you.

Our AML Policy Explained

Nova Casino operates under a licence issued by the Curaçao Gaming Control Board, and that licence binds us to a full anti-money-laundering programme. Since 2023, when Nova Gaming N.V. launched the platform, we have maintained a written AML framework that covers customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, suspicious activity reporting and staff training.

In practice, this means we cannot run an anonymous casino. We must know who holds each account, where their funds come from when the amounts warrant it, and whether the betting pattern on that account looks like genuine play. We report suspicious activity to the relevant authorities and cooperate fully with lawful information requests. These obligations apply to every player on novacasino-au.com without exception.

When We Verify Your Account

Verification checkpoints

We verify your identity at three points. First, at registration, when we validate your details against sanctions and age-screening lists. Second, before your first withdrawal, when full documentation is required. Third, at any point your activity reaches a threshold or triggers a monitoring alert, in line with our licence conditions.

Australia-specific note: you must be 18 or over to hold an account, and our checks confirm this. If we cannot establish your age, the account stays closed and funds are returned to their source.

  • Registration: basic identity screening and sanctions list check.
  • First withdrawal: full KYC file, covering ID, address and payment method.
  • Thresholds or alerts: re-verification or source of funds on request.

Documents we accept

For identity, we accept a current passport, driver licence or national ID card. For proof of address, a utility bill, bank statement or government correspondence issued within the last three months in your name. For payment method ownership, a photo of the card with the middle digits covered, a screenshot of your e-wallet or crypto wallet showing your name, or a bank statement showing the account.

Step by Step Verification

Uploads happen inside your account under the Verification tab, so documents never travel by email or live chat. Our compliance team reviews each file manually and responds within 24 hours in most cases, and always within three business days.

Every file is stored encrypted, access is restricted to trained compliance staff, and we never share your documents with third parties except where the law requires it. Originals are returned or deleted from the review queue once checks are complete.

  • Open the Verification tab in your account settings.
  • Select the document type and upload clear, uncropped, colour photos or PDFs.
  • Make sure all four corners are visible, the document is valid, and your name matches the account.
  • Our team reviews and updates the status, usually within 24 hours.
  • If anything fails, we tell you exactly which document to resubmit and why.

Why We Ask for Source of Funds

If your deposits exceed levels set in our AML programme, or your play pattern suggests funds beyond your declared profile, we are required to ask where the money came from. This is not an accusation; it is a standard licence condition that applies to banks, betting agencies and casinos alike.

We may ask for payslips, a tax assessment, dividend or sale statements, or bank statements showing the flow of funds into your deposit method. Your play stays available while we review, though large withdrawals may be held until the file is complete. In most cases a single document settles the matter within a day or two.

How We Monitor Transactions

Deposits and withdrawals are screened automatically against your verified profile. Our systems look for structuring (splitting amounts to stay under thresholds), rapid deposit-and-withdraw cycles with little play, third-party payments, and use of accounts that do not match your KYC file.

We return deposits to the same method you used to fund the account wherever the payment channel allows it. Minimum deposit is 20 AUD, minimum withdrawal is 30 AUD, and withdrawal limits sit at 8,000 AUD per day and 30,000 AUD per month. Withdrawals are processed within 0 to 24 hours once your file is complete, with no fees from our side. Larger sums than the monthly cap can be arranged with our team after enhanced checks.

If Verification Fails

An incomplete verification file blocks withdrawals, not deposits, until it is resolved. If you ignore our document requests for 30 days, we may suspend the account; after 90 days we may close it and return the balance to the original deposit method.

Where a document is rejected, we state the reason and invite a resubmission. Where we cannot establish that funds are legitimate, or where a player uses another person's identity or payment method, we must refuse the transaction, close the account and, where the law requires, file a report with the authorities. Verified players who keep their file current never see these measures.

How Long We Keep Records

Our licence requires us to retain KYC documents and transaction records for at least five years after the account closes or the relationship ends. These records support audits, regulatory inspections and, where necessary, lawful investigations.

Retention does not mean exposure. Files are encrypted, access-logged and held only for the purposes stated. After the retention period, documents are securely destroyed. You may request a copy of your verification file at any time by contacting [email protected], and our team is available on live chat 24/7.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to verify before I can deposit?

No. You can deposit and play after basic registration checks. Full verification is required before your first withdrawal or if your activity reaches a monitoring threshold.

How long does verification take?

Most files are reviewed within 24 hours, and always within three business days. Clear, uncropped colour photos of valid documents are the fastest route to approval.

Why must I withdraw to the same method I deposited with?

Same-method returns are a core AML control. They confirm that funds go back to the person who sent them, which protects you and keeps us compliant with our Curaçao licence.

What happens to my documents after verification?

They are stored encrypted for at least five years after your account closes, as our licence requires, then securely destroyed. Access is restricted to trained compliance staff.

Can I refuse a source of funds request?

You can, but we must then hold any withdrawals that triggered the request and may suspend the account. The request itself is a standard obligation, not a judgement about you.
